i drew this up in about...an hour? i made the cloud stuff in the background last..i'll work on it. also, there's gonna be a sacred heart on his chest.

i'm sick today. it stinks. i have a sore throat and a headache. ugh.

i went with my sister to buy a wifi card for one of our computers today, and i still haven't figured out how to set the dang thing up. i'm working on it.

last night i watched half of dave chappelle's block party...it was good. that's really all i have to say about that. i think i will write some letters to some homies now. i don't feel good.

i haven't updated in a while...i was really pushing to get these done.

anyway, they're for the denver post (obviously) which is the bigger newspaper here. they are just going on flyers and posters, but still, i'm glad that i was able to do something for something so big.

there is the guy that goes with the electrasplode...there will be other stuff too. it's really a very different style than my normal stuff, but i guess that is good. if it comes out good, that's all that matters.

my friend emily is here! well, actually she isn't. she is in boulder visiting her friend, and her dog is here. he's a very pretty, gentle dog.

other than that, i really have nothing. i'm working on the denver post music showcase flyer, and that's about it. it's coming out ok...it has bald bearded russians and worms. that's it for now.

i'm working on a new design...it's going to be sort of breakdancey. not that i have ever been in breakdancing or anything, but i think i was more influenced by having watched a ton of breakdance movies recently. i hope it doesn't come out too cheesy...also, i am going to see if i can figure out how to custom print the lettering so people can custom order their own crew shirt.

today i worked on the design. then i made calzones for dinner. they came out good. then i worked out. i have been working out really late because it is really hot during the day. today it got up past 100! that's the kind of weather where you leave your dog in a car, and when you come back, it's roasted to perfection.

last night i watched an EPIC-ly terrible movie. it was called immortal...man. it was a stinking hot turd of cg animation. it was really wierd, some of the characters were CG, some were real, and they really didn't explain why, and the story line was just...horrible. i have no idea what was going on with that movie.

i sat down and tried to draw for about 2 hours today...it was horrible. nothing came out very interesting. awful. on the plus side, i started on another design. i don't know if i wrote about it before, but this one is going to be a semi b-boy shirt. i'm not trying to make it too graffiti or anything, it's just going to be a shirt for my crew. i'm even working on getting some velvet iron on letters to complete the look, and make it even more awesome. i'm also going to start on a requested shirt, which is a pirate design. we'll see what i come up with. i keep asking people for ideas, because i really think i do better when i am drawing either something specific or i have something to go off of..anything. that's why i think i am way happier with the stuff i do for bands than i am with the other sketches i've come up with.

today i spent the morning looking for this dang jig saw so i can start cutting some guides and shirtboards for my press...it's annoying not finding it. then i drew, then i cut my hair, and basically i just wasted some time. i have been trying to work a lot, but when i am working, i am not getting anything done, because everything is coming out awful. at least i'm sort of in a routine.

last night i watched this movie mirrormask. it was supposed to be the labrynth of this generation...it was pretty crappy. i know both the artist and the writer from their comicbook work, and i think they are both better in that realm. neil gaiman is a pretty cheesy and obvious writer...it's hard to see why people love him so much, and the art in it felt really forced. it was all very quirky and bizarre, but forcedly so. there was only one image i liked, which was bird heads on a gorilla body.

for some reason while watching that movie i got an idea for an instrument i want to build. it wasn't really an instrument, more of a musical sculpture. it involved modifying tapes to make tone loops, then putting the tape in a boombox, the boombox in a 5 gallon drum, and the 5 gallon drum in a blanket. then i would regulate the volume of the tone through opening and closing a hole in the drum. i don't remember why it seemed like such a good idea at the time, but it just seems wierd now.

it seems like forever since i was able to get an update up... between 3 concerts, a late night working out, and a night where i wasn't at home, it has been a long time. lets see, here's some quick reviews and catchups:

wed- mannequin makeout, breaker breaker,someone... (i feel bad because i forgot their name), and kitsch club played at monkey mania. that was a good show...it was really hot in there, and kind of smelled like pee, but it was still a really really good show.

kitsch club himself, AKA sean

breaker breaker, AKA ashleigh. she gave me a shirt! it was cool! and i have worn it already! her myspace is http://www.myspace.com/ashleighbreaker, and her songs on there are rad.

mannequin makeout! woo!

anyway, back to the review..it was fun, the bands were all awesomer than awesome, and jeff (aka irene's march) and i walked to my house to pick up beer, so that was good too. NEXT NIGHT!

i don't rememeber. i know i watched some of MR. INDIA!!! which is amazing. NEXT NIGHT!

concert at le crunk! it was a great show...but attendance was sad. the last band was playing for about 6 of us, and they were really good, so i felt bad for them. they are coming back on the 15th, so i'll go back to re support them. also, le crunk's bathroom is incapacitated, so going to the bathroom was akward at best. NEXT NIGHT!

concert at walnut room! man man, mannequin makeout, and the visitors! cover charge of 10 dollars!!!!?! it was expensive. the visitors were good, but they reminded me of the desert worlds in super mario 2 a little bit too much for some reason. then mannequin makeout played an amazing set with lots of good stuff in it, then man man played. they were sort of like if real old timey pirates moved to williamsburg and got into indie music. they were really energetic though, and when i thought about it, they really had the energies missing from the previous big name band i saw, which was islands.

anyway, there you go, all caught up with pictures and stories! here is my new desktop by the way:

done! yay!

today has been pretty aggrivating. i am just getting annoyed at how many times a day i have to stop what i am doing to go run errands or do jobs for people, and when i ask for favors, it's worse than pulling teeth...it's like pulling ribs or something. anyway. i lifted in the cool of the evening, which was nice, except all the bugs were out. i am thinking up a new design...it's going alright. i have been watching all these breakdancing movies (breakin', breakin' 2, beat street, wildstyle, and style wars is coming) and i noticed how everyone has their name or their crew's name written on their clothes. i think it is really neat...they must have had places to get iron on's put on or something. anyway, i am thinking i'll do something with that, except make it my own, and not just cheesy "hey, remember breakdancing? that was cool". i went to the library and checked out a few books, the best of which is called "a time before crack". it's really sad to see how things have progressed...the photos all are so genuine, the people are all smiling, they are all holding hands, hugging, posing, being happy and enjoying each other.

last night i watched breakin' 2...it was pretty awful. it was funny at least, but it was so bad...it was like disney tried to make a breakdancing movie. it was all facade...

no drawing 2 days in a row...it's beacuse i have been working on this beatles drawing. it's coming out good...i'll post it when it gets done.

today i printed shirts in the morning (including yet another secret shirt..not that anyone cares) and then sent them out. it kind of stinks, because both of the packages i sent out today were replacements, so i not only wasn't getting paid, i was taking a loss. i think after the resending of stuff, it almost wasn't worthwhile. but whatever. i'm retooling the brand for the incorperation of multiple colors. it'll work. it has to, so it will.

it's also HOT here...really hot. i was working on getting my bike fixed in the back yard (not fixed, just tuned. it's pretty ok), and all of the sudden, i got all hot and shakey and tired all at once, so i went in the house and ate lunch and drank water and felt fine. later i rode to the post office and the library, and a guy outside the library shouted "it's HOTTTTTT!" except with more expletives, but still, he was feeling it too.

i went and ate sushi with my brother and sister, and it was good, but it is EXPENSIVE here...i mean, rolls are basically the same price here, but the little things, like seaweed salad, edemame, and kirin are like 4 times as expensive here. i guess i was just spoiled by kenka.

last night i watched bunty aur babli, an indian movie. it is really good! it wasn't nearly as cheesy as most other indian movies i've seen...it was wierd though, there was kissing! i have never ever ever seen an indian movie with kissing. they always make a big deal about NOT kissing. wierd. i have about an hour and half left to go...indian movies are just so LONG!

also, i had a dream that involved basically everyone i know...i was having a big party at my house, and everyone was there...cristina, karell, rob, andrea, galen...too many people to list. you were all here! it was nice.

oh, and i found out today that mannequin makeout is playing on wed, and le crunk is having a show thursday, and mannequin is playing on saturday...lots of shows soon.

i am working on a cd cover for a guy here....it's really not my normal style, but i guess it's always good to work on stuff you're not good at. i'm AWFUL at portraits, so these are some little cheat drawings thanks to mr light table. i still had to photoshop the crap out of them to get them looking right. i should be using illustrator, but i don't have it.

today i came home and started working on cleaning my new press. i also wrote the company that made it, trying to track down some registration bars and other assorted parts it needs. they said they have a limited supply, so maybe they have it maybe they don't. i hope they do.

then i started working on these faces, trying to get it all looking good. we ate at pho for dinner, which is AWESOME! then i came back and drew more. other than that, nothing today.

oh, that reminds me. last night i didn't watch a movie, because i was at a concert. it was over on 15th (i live on 29th and 27th, depending where i am during the day) so it was pretty close. i rode my bike over, and got lost because i couldnt find it, and so i drove around and finally found it. i was worried i was late, it turns out i got there in time to hear 2 more opening bands before transistor radio sound, then kissing party played. all the bands were good, but transistor radio was the only one that had the real....tangible energy i like in a show. i bought their 7", which is good. it is basically the mp3's i already have, but now i can listen to it while i am printing. oh, and i found out mannequin makeout is playing on the 11th (i think? i hope) which is exciting because they are playing the walnut room, which is super close to my house.

the END!

here is another example of what i'll be able to do witht he color screen....i hope things all work out on it.

today...what did i do? i worked on drawings, i cleaned a little, i made dinner (carnitas, refried beans, my sister made a cabbage salad with other veggies), i went and checked out the press, i drove places.....i got some stuff done.

i am really hoping this new press with lend an air of legitimacy to my business...so far it really stinks trying to contact people and having them either straight not reply, or reply that they aren't interested. i think the new color designs, once i learn how to do them well, will come off much awesomer.

other than that, i really don't have anything else going on. i am just excited, and hopeful that everything works out.

oh, last night i watched sahara...never watch that crap. it was boring. and it really didn't make much sense...it made as much sense as if indiana jones had been looking for the lost arc, but the movie only spent 15 minutes of him actually looking for and finding the arc, and the rest of the movie had nothing to do with it. wierd. and bad.
